The San Luis Obispo/Santa Barbara wine country is fast becoming one of the premier wine regions in the world. Second only to Napa/Sonoma in production and quality in California, the region offers an excellent selection of award winning wineries. With over 100 wineries in San Luis Obispo County, there are many great wine tasting opportunities. In addition to year-round tasting, many wineries offer events, and tours explaining the winemaking process in detail.

Whether you are interested in quiet relaxation or active exercise and recreation, there is plenty to do while staying at the Oak Creek Ranch Retreat, including scenic mountain walking and biking trails, swimming, wildlife viewing, star gazing, games and much more Here are some of the onsite activities guests can enjoy.


Bring your own bikes for a great scenic ride on the local country roads. Take the Old Stagecoach route out on West Pozo Road or end up at the Pozo Saloon for a little refreshment. Ping-pong, horseshoes, frisbee golf, bocce ball, and foosball are just some of the outdoor games and activities available to our guests.

Located in the heart of San Luis Obispo County, the Oak Creek Ranch is close to a variety of recreational opportunities, ranging from fresh water or saltwater fishing, golf, antique shopping, wine tasting, dancing and concerts, to touring world-famous Hearst Castle.

Oak Creek Ranch is conveniently located on the central coast of California, less than 200 miles from both Los Angeles and the Silicon Valley, and less than 250 miles from San Francisco. Oak Creek Ranch is located 20 miles east of the small town of Santa Margarita, and 35 minutes from the San Luis Obispo Airport.
