On-Site Activities
Our on-site activities are centered around enjoying the treasures of our beautiful natural setting.
Walking Trails
Enjoy dozens of walking trails on 160 acres of beautiful landscape. You can explore the back trails to view the nearby pastures of llamas and emus, walk to the “top of the world” to get a 360° view of the neighboring areas, including Pozo Valley and the Los Padres National Forest, or follow the creek-bed trails looking for rock specimens and animal tracks. Trail maps are available.
Swimming
Our large 40X50’ swimming pool is perfect for exercise lap swimming or large group pool parties. The peak swimming months are June through September.
Biking
Bring your own bikes for a great scenic ride on the local country roads. Take the Old Stagecoach route out on West Pozo Road or end up at the Pozo Saloon for a little refreshment.
Wildlife Viewing
The diverse wildlife that is native to the area includes black-tailed deer, wild pig, coyote, and bobcat. Bird-watchers can expect to see varieties of red-tailed hawk, barn owl, golden eagle, acorn woodpecker, Western bluejay, yellow-billed magpie, and California valley quail, among many others.
Lavender Fields
A lavender field featuring 12 varieties of lavender was planted in 2002 adjacent to the barn. A field brochure describing each of the varieties and their specific characteristics is available for guests to help them identify each species as they stroll through the garden.
Star-gazing
Our location provides an excellent opportunity for star-gazing. Because of clear skies and low ambient light, the night sky comes alive for the casual shooting star observer or the serious astronomer. Presentations and slideshows by a local astronomical group are also available.
Games and Recreation
Ping-pong, horseshoes, Frisbee golf, bocce ball, and volleyball are just some of the outdoor games and activities available to our guests.
